Weekly Workout: 10 sets: 10 KB/DB snatch (alternate arms per set) 40 Jump rope double unders or 100 single unders (rest exactly 1 min between sets) + 90/90 Hang 10 sec every min for 8 minutes Quote Im pondering "I have, let’s say, sixty years to live. Most of that time will be spent working. I’ve chosen the work I want to do. If I find no joy in it, then I’m only condemning myself to sixty years of torture. And I can find the joy only if I do my work in the best way possible to me. But the best is a matter of standards—and I set my own standards. I inherit nothing. I stand at the end of no tradition. I may, perhaps, stand at the beginning of one.” ― Ayn Rand, The Fountainhead What I'm reading, listening, watching or eating: Homemade beef jerky with our Masterbuilt Smoker We buy a 1/2 cow each year and use the roast and select steaks to make beef jerky. Our venison jerky normally last 4-6 months then we switch over to beef. I slice the meat into 1/4 inch strips, and marinate them in coconut aminos (substitute for soy sauce) and any kind of seasoning we want. Hang strips of meat and smoke on low for 6-8 hours at around 175 degrees. The meat cooks down about 50% so 2 lbs of wet jerky will yield 1 lb of jerky. Enjoy!! Random: Recently I listened to a podcast with Joe Rogan and Dr Rhonda Patrick and they dived deep into building immunity to fend off Covid-19. Top take aways are.....

  • Vitamin D is king. They recommended getting tested to see where your levels are. Dr Patrick takes 4000 IU and Joe Rogan takes 5000 IU per day. (and they both live in very sunny locations) Vit D from sunshine is best. Interesting to see FL and NY have similar level of positive Covid patients but much much higher rate of death in NY. Less sun = lower immunity?

  • Vitamin C is important. Recommendations are 500 MG 2-3 times a day. Any more than 500 MG at one serving you will urinate a portion of it out.

  • Zinc an overlooked mineral. Highly beneficial for a strong immune system

  • Strength training. The strong survive, simple.

  • Sauna. Sweating and heat shock proteins are paramount for detoxifying and building system resilience.

  • Sleep. Healing and repair is done during sleep. Follow the natural light cycles and you are golden.
