Josh attended Utica College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Law and then entered into the insurance industry. At the age of 24 he quickly realized the cubicle life was not for him and started planning a new career around his true passion, movement and coaching. After a short period of time personal training clients for free in the basement of a YMCA he grew his following. Eventually Josh gained the courage to quit the 9-5 lifestyle and coach full time. He built a small 900 square foot facility in Upstate NY and coincidentally called it Garage Gym. For the next 7 years him and his team coached hundreds of clients there and grew an amazing community. As the vision and mission of the brand grew, they out grew their facility and decided to take a leap and build a brand new 3600 sq foot facility and rebranded to Co-Movement. Today Co-Movement specializes in private coaching and remote programming working with hundreds of clients across the globe. In addition Co-Movement offers a unique Farm Share Program that allows members to purchase pastured raised meat from a local regenerative small farm. Josh is also the Co-Host of the Co-Movement Gym Podcast, and co-founder of Fit Kids Fit Future where his team trained 75 grade schools with their unique Health and Physical Education curriculum.
Josh has completed the OPEX C.C.P. program design, assessment and life coaching modules. He competed in the 2008 Crossfit Games along with numerous regional and sectional competitions. Josh was coached by movement coach Ido Portal for 3 years and attended The Corset, Movement X and Motion seminars with Ido’s team. Josh is a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Len Sonia and currently attempting the 47 Laker Adirondack Challenge which consist of swimming 1 or more miles across 47 different Adirondack Lakes, unaided with no wet suit.
In his free time, he can be found gardening with his wife and 9-year-old step son, bow hunting or going on family adventures.
Josh lives the brand mantra Move and Live Courageously, and is continually inspired by the risk takers, and unconventional individuals who value health, movement, and adventure.
