June Client of the Month

Congratulations to Josh R for being nominated Co-Movements June client of the month! Josh resides in New Hampshire and started our remote programming service in July of 2019. Josh's primary goals are strength and health with the long term vision having the ability to do a pistol squat, free standing handstand push up, strict muscle up, and one armed chin up. Josh does exactly what we expect from a remote programming client, he completes all his workouts, sends videos, ask questions, and give us accurate feedback at the end of each workout phase. We look forward to Josh's continued progress! Congrats!!!

How did you hear about Co-Movement?

To be honest I don't exactly recall how I heard about Co-Movement. I believe I somehow heard about it through social media and stumbled across a podcast Josh was on, which got me interested so I started digging in.

Tell us a little bit about your background and what brought you to Co-Movement, when did you start?

My fitness background is pretty typical I think. Grew up playing sports, continued in college by playing club rugby, just working out daily using the stereotypical bodybuilding splits. After college I got into Crossfit for a few years which was horrible for me. Not that Crossfit is bad or anything, but I was young and competitive, and was more interested in throwing around as much weight as possible than actually learning and perfecting the techniques required for complex movements.  This led to multiple injuries to include chronic back and neck ailments that severely  limited my abilities to move without pain. So after a few years of pain and forcing myself through workouts that were of little benefit, my wife made me try yoga, specifically heated power vinyasa. I would say this started an upward trend for me in terms of body awareness and perspective. I still love yoga, but I wanted more variety and I wanted to try something new and challenging. That's when I found Co-Movement and everything I saw and heard just rang true so I figured I'd give it a shot. Last summer, around July, I contacted Josh and got started.

What is your favorite music you listen to when you are moving?

It all depends on the workout! I'll listen to anything from old school rap to heavy rock to classical music. Its all dictated by the workout that day and what I need to get it done.

Name one favorite meal or snack that you enjoy the most.

Venison, no doubt, prepared any way.

What is your most memorable moment at Co-Movement?

Finally hitting the straddle-up from the floor. Took about 6 months to get it, but now I'm putting multiple reps together no problem.

What would you tell someone looking at joining Co-Movement?

Whether physically or mentally, we grow by putting ourselves in uncomfortable positions. Co-Movement will put you through exercises that will humble you. I've never felt so silly or weak while attempting many movements Josh has thrown at me, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Give it a shot, you won't regret it.

Anything else you want people to know about you and your journey?

Just that I look forward to continue my growth with Co-Movement.

Have a great week and spread love!

Josh
