January Client of the Month
Updated: Mar 11, 2020

Congrats to Jae Friedman for being nominated Co-Movements January Client of the Month! Jae joined Co-Movement in March of 2019 and has been following our remote programming model where she completes monthly customized workouts wrote by her trainer Jake Wratten. Jae is a perfect example of someone who uses her "fitness" by working full time at a local vegetable farm and wanted to prevent future injuries/imbalances by following a program wrote specifically for her abilities and goals. Bonus points to her for eating dark chocolate, we have a community of chocolate lovers that's for sure!

Tell us a little bit about your background and what brought you to Co-Movement, when did you start?
I started here this past spring, shortly after moving to the area. I work on a vegetable farm, and have done this kind of work for about five years. In that time, I have seen a lot of farmers and farm workers with chronic pain - both injury based and from long term wear-and-tear. So, in order to keep doing the work I love for a long time, and still get to do other fun things, strength and mobility training feels very important (and also feels good). My partner also joined and we have great fun working out together.
What is your favorite music you listen to when you are moving? Lizzo, pretty much every time. She is such a talented musician and makes music that is so good to move to!
Name one favorite meal or snack that you enjoy the most. A classic snack - cheese and (gluten free) crackers with thin apple slices. I also usually have some kind of cabbage cole slaw (both vinegar and mayo based) in the fridge for sides & snacks. We also are always stocked with super dark chocolate - AlterEco makes a "super black out" bar that is incredible.
What is your most memorable moment at Co-Movement? It's so fun now to hear the kids playing next door sometimes! Their excitement is contagious.
What would you tell someone looking at joining Co-Movement? The facility is so nice and clean, the folks are great, and when it's nice out you can open the garage door! It's a welcoming and encouraging atmosphere.
Extra Extra:Â
P.S. If you are looking for Kettlebells at half the price of what is normally advertised by fitness equipment websites, Co-Movement just purchased these and love them!
P.S.+Â Â No doubt one of the best books I just finished in 2019 was Civilized to Death by Christopher Ryan. This book explores the ways in which "progress" has perverted the way we live: how we eat, learn, feel, mate, parent, communicate, work, and die.
