April Client of the Month

Congratulations to Peter Lombardi on being nominated Co-Movements April Client of the month! Pete joined our community in year 1 in 2011 and has been with us throughout the whole journey. Together we built Garage Gym Oneida in 2013 as our philosophies as a trainer and chiropractor aligned. Pete has a long list of accomplishments during his time at Co-Movement which include training for and completing numerous mud runs, an Alaskan moose/bear hunt, a strict ring muscle up, Crossfit competitions, partaking in his pole vaulting hobby and completed numerous energy system workouts demonstrating his balance as a true athlete. He balances all of this while being a husband, successful business owner, and father of 4. Congrats Pete!

1. How did you hear about Co-Movement?

I heard about Co-Movement when Josh told me that he was re-branding Garage Gym into this new concept that he realized was the future of the industry. I met Josh when I scheduled a consult with him back in about 2011. He had an ad in the newspaper and a website that I looked through. After reading his take on life (aka his philosophy), I knew we were going to hit it off. I originally was looking for a trainer for my oldest son because he didn't want my help. Instead I realized Josh could teach me a lot, so I hired him for both of us.

2. Tell us a little bit about your background and what brought you to Co-Movement, when did you start?

I am a wellness chiropractor with a very active and athletic background. I spend as much time as I can in nature hunting, fishing, hiking, building, gardening, pole vaulting, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, and anything that is invigorating. Co-Movement has been a super important affiliation for my practice. I always get the question, are there any exercises that I can do? My answer is let's see what you can and can't do. Show me an air squat. I have learned that one size does not fit all, so we need to understand where we are now in order to get to where we want to go. We teach our practice members to support their chiropractic care they need to eat well, move well, and to think well, which is exactly what Josh and the team at Co-Movement are doing.

3. What is your favorite music you listen to when you are moving?

I find that music is not that important to me. Just about anything that is uptempo and not offensive. I really am more inspired by working out with someone else like one of my 3 boys.

4. Name one favorite meal or snack that you enjoy the most.

A grass fed ribeye steak cooked medium rare on a wood fire with a sweet potato and some grilled veggies is the bomb!

5. What is your most memorable moment at Co-Movement?

Worst memory is doing the 300 FY test on the Airdyne bike.

Best memory was hitting my first strict ring muscle up

6. What would you tell someone looking at joining Co-Movement?

Just do it. For all of my adult life, I've been taking care of others. My gym appointment is the one time of the week when I can concentrate on myself. You don't need to have a background in athletics or any prior knowledge of weightlifting or any exercise to join Co-Movement. The trainers take you where you are and encourage you on your own journey. It was so hard for me to take the first step and contact Josh, but it's been one of the best decisions of my life.

7. Anything else you want people to know about your and your journey?

You are not going to find a better place to learn about functional movements that will grow with you as you journey through life. Movement is Life. Take it serious and you will get serious results. They take it serious.

Anything else you want people to know about you and your journey?

The journey is constantly changing, and being able to adapt to those changes takes the right mindset, skill set and effort. I believe that we were all born to be healthy and not sick. Our culture is full of sick people first and foremost because of the beliefs and habits that they were raised with and practice. A shift in mindset is what will change the world. Co-Movement is on the right track of congruency with what the human body requires to express health. The world wants this now more than ever.
